Default Who Rocks Open Face Helmets?

I think, no matter how state-of-the-art these closed helmets are, they still dont allow good enough air flow and cooling for my face. I sweat alot, especially on my face, and I am considering open-face helmets.. and possibley a bandana around my face just to keep the bugs away.. now I know that seems a little Biker Boy wannabe, but whatever, I ******* hate that movie.

I have no problems wearing a closed-face helmet. Do whatever makes you more comfortable while riding

I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing an open face helmet. I would just spend a few extra bucks to get a helmet with hella good airflow

I wouldnt even consider an open face helmet. Ive been hit in the face shield so many times with rocks and debri thinking to myself, "damn, that would have hurt if I didnt have a full face helmet"

Rocks Rock open face helmets : p

Open face helmets wouldnt be too bad if you didn't drive over 45 mph, a rock would hurt at that speed but you wouldn't be behind any vehicles that would be kicking up debris at that speed anyhow. But any faster would really suggest a well ventillated fullface helmet. As for good ventilation. I don't know what to suggest. It's not that hot nor that cold here where I live, very diff depending on what area of Florida you live. So just do a little research. What do people here suggest really?

I always get hit by little bugs and rocks. Kinda hurts when it hits my exposes neck I imagine it would really hurt if it hit my face. Now as for safety reasons, I like my face and I'd like to keep it the way it is. Check out some pictures of lids after crashes and see what would of happened with an open face. If you dont mind a little reconstructive surgery...

Just get a huge windshield for the front of your bike. That way the rocks/bugs/cigarette ash/etc won't smack you in the face. Just don't do a faceplant if you fall off your bike.

Hell, I hit some fatass fly going about 25mph right below my left eye. Damn thing caused me to tear up and I had to pull over. I rode with the visor down the rest of the way home.

Half of all motorcycle head injuries involve the frontal jaw area. Wear an open face helmet and you are exposing 50% of your skull, and 50% more likely to **** it up. I just flip up my visor and get plenty of airflow.

Is having a jaw more important than not sweating?

I have been stung twice. Once the thing flew into my shirt and stung me on the stomach. The other time, I had my fact shield cracked open a little and the bee hit the edge of the opening and the disconnected stinger lodged in my forehead.

Most likely the helmet wasn't sitting on your head properly and was tilted too far back or it was a real shitty helmet. My shoei doesn't restrict my view at all.

If that is the Shaman, it's not Snell approved if that matters to you.
