Default before the rain in TO.. oil change (*56K go do an oil change*)

Before the rain comes this afternoon I decided to do an oil change on the R.

Honda oil filter and oil of choice for this change, Castrol Syntec 5w30.

Red carpet treatment.

**** Vtek y0!

Hamp you did your job. Now it's time to say goodbye. (into the trash)

Replace the crush washer for the oil drain bolt.

Fill 'er up

Impulse buy item at Canadian Tire check. Summer bling multi-color tire tint! Haha not sure if it really works or not. It wasn't too sunny out.

Just wondering if this happens to everyone else too, but when I pull my oil filter out oil spills everywhere, well, all over my jdm 4-1, then into the oil pan. Am I just not waiting long enough for my oil to drain?

for the money you spent on that tire ****, you coulda had proper jackstands!

try removing the filter by putting your arm down past the top of the motor between the intake manifold and the firewall. you'll stay MUCH cleaner

I know about reaching the filter from the top.

The cement blocks + wood work. The car is not going anywhere.

You guys take the rice so seriously. Jokes man.

Tweak - who loves your small Hamp filter, and has a couple left that he can no longer use (won't fit Greddy block adapter )

I'll switch to 300v soon enough.. $75 oil changes are going to be tough to deal with though

is that sarcasm?

if it not then... it should be.

as for informative... what size are the tools needed, how much oil, whats the part numbers, whats the safest point to lift from, whats the safest place to put a jerkstand, what kinda chocks and where to place them, where is the oil filter located, were does the drain bolt go, where does the used oil go, how to check to amount, what safety items to you use and how do you know when to change the oil. Just a few questions I thought that should be answered when making a informative post like this...

Just an FYI, but tossing used oil filters in the garbage is illegal in most states.

Thanks for your concern. I didn't feel like taking the jack stands out yesterday.

Here's a pic of the R on jack stands for all you beloved concerned ITR owners. I'm feeling so much love in this thread.

Yup, fake synthetic. Probably one of the lowest flash point of all oils. Maybe even worse than Castrol GTX . Strangely doesn't burn as much as Mobil 1 in my car though. I will have to try that Motul stuff on the next oil change Ravage00.
