saved some cash for the autozone gauges? Hell its only your life, good install. Now when u slam into a tree the joints will break and impale a muffler pipe into your spleen, along with the dandy knee bar parlizing you at the same time.

GREAT craftsmanship.

btw is that a 240?

240 or a prelude are my guesses.

240SX maybe, not a 240Z though. Also not a 4th gen Prelude. Don't know what the older Prelude interiors look like....

Looks like a 240SX to me. I hope this isn't the same guy who used shelving brackets for his fuel cell!

That's the "Tonya Harding" style roll cage.

It's a 240SX. I don't think it's the same one with the shelf brackets, only because if that's the stock instrument panel, it's a (notchback) coupe, not a fastback like the shelf bracket car.

You can fit three or four 52mm gauges in place of the center vent pod and three more 52mm gauges in place of the HVAC controls. Those vents and DIN slots are just sitting there unused!

But that sweet "knee bar" cage design blocks most of the DIN slots.

That looks like a major ouch waiting to happen...

Ive got a final synopsis on the cage.

Clearly only one thing could explain it.

A minitrucker owns that car, end of story.

minitruckers love welding **** in, even if it means mig welding a spear aimed at your face from the front bumper support. Its the "nostalgia"or however its spelled deal. I guess they favor torture devices. All he needs is a spike bat for a shift ****.

Hahahahaha. That is the funniest thing I have seen all day. Looks like damn exhaust pipe too. Goes nicely with the cheap guages all over the place, lol.

God. Reminds me of the dash bar in that dirt-track EF Si that was for sale on here a little bit ago.

LOL! This got a big laugh from me for some reason. Still chuckling about it.

That "knee banger bar" reminds me of the safety restraint on the coaster rides at Disney except they were hinged to swing over into you lap and lock you in place instead of seat belts. This one just sits there waiting for you to crah into it.

How's the saying go? Don't try to save money on safety?

Looks like he could've skipped the ricetastic gauges in favor of a better designed cage.

Did anyone notice that the steering wheel, shifter boot and gauge faces are all color coordinated baby blue? Christopher Lowell would definately approve, a little faux finish paint technique on the cage and you'd be there. Gotta be worth a few MPH.

Culprit found.

Note to self: Never ask Loree Motorsports to build me a cage...

And is he running an SR20DET in ITE?

quote from that website:

"Safety Matters ( Roll Cage by Loree Motorsports)

Following the rules put in effect by the SCCA lets you build a better racecar. For instance Safety Matters. The size of tubing, weight of the car, number of bends allowed on the main hoop and where the cage meets with the floorpan are all predetermined to set the car up for a specific class and greatest safety. Don't mess around with safety because at high speed anything can happen and you want to be able to walk away.(Racing is Dangerous and Death can Occur)"
