Default Upgrading from the gsr to itr

I found a local ITR owner selling his car, 2001 PY 11000 miles, asking 16500. Is that a fair price, or could i talk him down a bit? I plan on selling my gsr (i know the insurance and maintenance costs will be higher).
I plan on making all the payments, but having it insured under my dads name since im only 18 and his insurance will be way cheaper. What do you guys think a fair price is for a 95 gsr, with a little work and in great condition with 74000 miles on it would go for? Im thinking maybe 7k-8k?

If so, Sir please make sure your son drives this caR with respect. IF he chooses not to and try to race other cars on the street and try to take turns at lightening speed you son has a good chance of getting tickets or getting hurt.

this car in the hands of a young person, can be a bad thing.

Man I wish they had this car when I was 18

$16,500 on a good condition '01 ITR with 11K miles is a steal (to me). Go for it.

I did this about a year ago...went from a 99 GSR with 48k on it to a 00 black ITR with 20k on it...difference was about 5 grand....

Best freaking thing I've ever done.

Thats a very good deal unless it's been hit or has a dirty title. I would offer $16000 flat, the guy will probably take it. Goodluck and I hope you have a garage like others have said.

It's the midwest, it's easy to get lost.

Tweak - who also wonders why people put up fake locations (like "west coast" when the person lives on the east coast )

We don't want the guy goin too fast because he'll kill himself. He should get the R and he'll be safe from going too fast

thanks for the advice guys. I already talked to my dad about it, and the car would be in the garage where my gsr sits right now. (right next to the vette ). He knows im responsible, we autocross together usually, and the R is just what i want. Im going to go out and see it tomorrow, hopefully i can get some help on the loan till i sell my car. wish me luck.

you sound like a good kid, and the price is great! I would say go pick it up right away, but before you do look over the vehicle carefully.

I would ask the owner if the car has ever been moded, raced (drag, track or autox), wrecked or vandalized. I would then look over the vehicle carefully looking in obvious modding places such as the engine comparment and exhaust to see if any bolts have been removed. I would look at all the vins on each panel, and look for tape lines in the obvious places where refinishing would require tape to be. If the owner says that the car is clean and you see something that would show otherwise you know he is lying. This doesnt mean you shouldn't buy the car but see if you can get it for a few hours to take to a trust worthy mechanic for greater inspection. If the car checks out to your likings, grab that beesh and take her home.

i do plan to check it out thourougly before i purchase it, if i do. The only thing im worried about is getting a loan for this car while i still have about 2k to pay off on the gsr. I dont know if i can get 2 loans at the same time. once i sell the gsr ill pay it off and put the rest of the money into the itr loan. any suggestions on what i should do ?

Im lookin to make the same trade come next summer. I've got a 95 GSR with about 60k now. Good luck with the purchase but like the others said make sure the car has not been beat on.

This isn't the PY ITR that has front end damage I saw for sale the other day, is it? I hope not. That deal sounds too good to be true though...that is very low for the year and mileage...definitely run a car fax. Hopefully everything turns out clean. Good luck!

Find out what the ITR # is and google it. Lots of ITR owners on the web
Might be able to find some unofficial history.

Ahahhahahahaha!
Do you take yourself seriously?

Just in case you forgot, an ITR is nothing more than an Integra with fancier bits. Yeah, it's a nice car, but christ! It's not a classic chevy or ferrari man. It's an INTEGRA!

to elitist ITR drivers who think they're teh ****!
