Default Help installing autometer water temp gauge on d16z6

Guys i have done lots of searches and their are to many diff ways for people to do it, which is the best way to get an accurate reading ? is it the easy hook up to the back of the cluster? just use the new sender and follow directions? also if you guys can help me with the part of the directions that say "connect wire from ignition switch" where do i hook this up to? what wire to the ignition switch ? thanks

Tap into a coolant line, here is how I did it. This will be the most accurate way.

I dunno how one knows if its the most "accurate way" but heres how I did it. I took the stock sender out and then dope'd the autometer one in RVT and screw'd it into the head under the dizzy. It didnt go in very far cause the threads are different on the sender then the ones in the head. But you get enought turns b4 it binds and it makes a good seal and doesnt leak. And if it breaks or something, the threads are still good cause you didnt ruin em and you can throw in the stock sender. I find it to be very accurate.

Well i simply followed instructions, i took out the old sender put the new one in with the wire running to the back of the gauge(where sender goes). then i grounded next to the thermostat housing running a wire to the back of the gauge(where ground goes).

But now i'm stuck trying to find a good 12v connection from the ignition switch? HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!

look in the fuse box. there are 3 aux. connectors that are free. one is ignition switched. the other two are full time hot and headlight switched. this is easily the most available power source in the entire car. I forget which one is which, but use a multimeter and test the voltage.
