Default HB vs CRX

I want to get rid of my 91 EX sedan and get the car I should've bought in the first place, 90-91 CRX or HB Si...but I have a few questions, help me out...

1. The CRX has a sunroof, but I remember the HB having a power moonroof...correct or no?
2. Does the HB have the CRX Si factory Recaros, or does it get the Sedan and DX style seat and headrest instead?
3. The CRX has a full center console...does the HB as well? Or just the upper portion like the sedan?
4. Does any USDM 90-91 Si HB have power windows/mirrors from the factory?
5. Finally, does the HB have the hatch cargo cover like the DX and Si CRX?

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

1.yes the si hb has power moonroof
2.yes the si hb has recaros
3.no the center console is not atatched to the dash but there was an optional console that connected it but its more like in a 88-91 prelude than in the crx..also the crx dash fits.
4.no hb and crx have power windows[the jdm sir's do..]
5.yes theres a cargo cover but it was an option that some dont have..

Yeah what he said. Most of the options you can find at the
junk yard though. I got me the cargo cover, and also the lower
console where the shifter is.

actually, the crx has the moonroof (solid panel) and the hatch as the sunfoor (glass)...

For what it's worth:
I am now on my third CRX. I've had an 88DX, 89Si, and now have a B16 powered 91Si. I have also had a 91 Civic Si for about two and a half years now (pictured to the left). I'm not sure what you're wanting to do with your car, but I prefer the HB. When I first got it, I hated it because it wasn't a CRX, but I've grown to like it a lot.

To me, the Civic seems like a much bigger car than the CRX (I know it's only slightly larger). Maybe it's the longer wheelbase or added weight but the HB feels much more comfortable and stable in the turns. My only complaint with the HB is the restricted leg room up front.

If you can tolerate the extra weight, I highly suggest the HB.

I thought it was the other way around. (?) Sunroof=solid Moonroof=glass?

That's funny, it's the same exact situation I was in. I put a b16 in my EX, but the 4 doors just weren't doing it for me. I split the price of a rusted crx 50/50 with a friend, and I gave him the rusted EX for a beater car (I kept the b16). Just switch ing to a crx took me from a 15.6 to a 14.6 1/4mile

I am very happy with the crx. I highly recommend it, if just because I'm not expected to haul people in it. I'm not sure what the weight of the HB is, but I think it's more than the crx. That was my main driving force for switching. Power doors, sunroof, etc. took a distant second.

Thanks all, since my lady has a CR-X Si already and I can drive it whenever I want, I'll probably end up getting a hatch.

I like my dash

Get a hatch... be original. CRX Si's are EVERYWHERE, I'm lucky to see a single hatchback Si in a wek.... besides mine

Don't get me wrong, I love my sedan, and I really loved my old 88 DX sedan, but in my area, I was the EF sedan originator (not to brag or anything, but I did have one of the first modded Civic sedans in my area), and as soon as I got my EX about a year ago, every bitchass lowrider in my area came up with some sorry *** sedans (how about a "combat" kitted DX sedan with chrome fender trim and "extended" wheels...I about threw up the first time I saw it), and it kinda tarnished my image a little.

At the time I bought it I actually was deciding between the car I have now and a 89 CR-X Si, Rio Red, color matched upper moldings, mirrors and door handles...me and my lady would've had matching cars but I bought the sedan instead, and am now realizing that the D16A6 is great for hauling around a light CR-X or HB but not the heavier sedan...

SiR Kid...I am feeling you about the rarity of HB Si's...in my area there are very few...there are actually more hooked up EF sedans than HB's or CR-X's, and the Si's you do see aren't hooked up or anything.

I've seen a TOTAL of 3 black 4th gen Si hatch's in MEMPHIS. One WAYYY northside, and another one like mine <but tore down looking> in my general area.

Both have tint, and 14" 93-95 EX hubcaps.

I'm the only one that's modded for ****.

I love having an ORIGINAL car and not a generic Black 96-2000 Coupe. Sorry Coupe owners, but your car is TOOOOOOO popular.

I have friends with both cars and to me it seems like the Hatch is just a nicer car. It feels more solid and comfortable. I was going to get a CRX but then I drove my friends and decided if I got anything Id get a hatch.

You may think you see all the messed up Sedans, because you have one now. There are more screwed up (I hate to use the term Rice, but RicedOut) Hatches and CRXs out there. You'll notice them more when you own one. The grass is always greener on the other side.

A clean hooked up EF Sedans are more rare that hooked up hatches and CRXs. And you don't have to lean forward to let somebody in. As for weights. Its nothing a swap or a turbo can't handle. There all the pretty close as a matter of fact the '89 CRX Si is only 9lbs lighter that a '89DX sedan. Go figure?

yeh but if u get the hf crx or std hatch then theres 200 with the hb and 300 with the hf difference between the si's which weigh 2100 thats alot of wieght in the wrong places at the highest point sunroof personally the sedan is a little to boxy for me but wut ever floats ur boat and the crx if u have more than two people that need to ride in it someones in the storage compartment

Turn that sedan into a fire breathing beast, drop a B20 in and turbo that motha later. A B20 in a sedan would hual a$$, espically with a Skunk2 intake manifold, and a decent header, less trouble then selling a buying a car, plus a CRV power EF sedan would be sleeper from hell !

Yeah! Someday. I'm getting my d16z6 turboed right now. I wish I had a DOHC motor, but I'm too far into it. Maybe I'll blow it up and get the b20. Some day I guess.

Sleepers are cool. People don't f#@k you. You f#@K with them!
