well if you're talking about using this in your car then just use the headunit to play the cds. Split the RCA's going to the amp and have one set go to the aux in on the minisystem and 1 set to your amp.

now i have a question for you. are you actually going to do this? and is this in adition to the 18" party sub you're thinking about getting?

if its for your house jsut buy one of those little home theater in a box systems. at least taht way you can change out the sub or the speakers whenever you want. They pretty much all have sub output connections.

- LOL -

I think investing the money and then finding out your inverter can't power your new "system" will definetly make you unhappy - but hey - who knows.

this has jsut given me an idea. I've got a spare channel on my CAV-180 so all i need to do is get a sub and build a box and i'm good to go. its 720W @ 2 ohms and i think its 1ohm stable.

why wouldnt the power inverter not power my new 'system'

which would consist of a shelf system that would just be plugged in, and a bass amp and sub(s)

from my limited expirence - not hearing shelf systems in cars - power inverters are usually meant to provide enough wattage to be able to satisfy the demands of a laptop - small tv etc. etc, i would think that running a shelf system, and then trying to pump it would be overwhelming.
