I know of a 2000 Type R owner with only 5,000 miles on it who avoided a deer but
lost control and crashed into a tree while coasting backwards. car was totaled out
by the insurance company, and he bought the car back for $7,000, and stripped it
like no other R has been stripped and only threw away a shell. He planed to
convert his 95 LS into a R with every last detail, but with the adition of that
sunroof, anyway his luck was down and before he could even start the job his
friend recked his 95 LS. So he's giving up on the ideal and is asking $8,000 for
everything and I mean everything If an R shell came with it from the factor you
get it down to every last nut and bolt. IM me if you're interested I'll make things
happen.

This guy is a friend from P.A. who owns a detail shop and I met while he was working an acount for Colman Olds. He never hangs around our area, but you might have seen his car on olden from time to time.
If he payed 7K to get it back, why ask 8 for everything? trying to make a thousand dollars profit from his wrecked car? thats kinda like a triangle skeem...wreck car, buy back wrecked car, and sell them for 1K over what u payed. thus getting insurance money and 1K plus what u payed to get it back.

Yes, but thats his right, and he just might take the 7,000 but I can't guaranty that I can only tell you what he told me. You try and get the same deal for less. I think its a gift of a deal. Build a brand new 5,000 mile R for about $12,000 total. $8,000 for parts, $2,500 for a good shell maybe even a Type R shell and $1,500 in labor.
I bought my ITR back for $2300 and bent the frame back straight and replaced suspension bits. Now it's faster than ever.
$7000? Too much for just used parts.
