I've been doing allot of research and some say you can use your 88-91 ecu, distributor, intake manifold with the d16z6 or y8 head and then others say to use the 5th gen ecu dizzy etc. I'm unclear as to which is right. Does anyone know for shure if I can use my 90crx ecu, intake mainfold and distributor with the new head? I know I need the d16y8 head gasket but the rest is unclear.

 

Yes you can but you will need some way to activate vtec. But the answer is yes,

 

if u wana use ur stock ecu u are gona need a \rpm activator for the v-tec
but if u wana use 5th gen ecu u need to convert from obd to obd1
