Should a lightly modded ITR keep up with a G35 coupe, especially at higher speeds?
I have an ITR with JDM header (stock exhaust) and Comptech intake and my buddy just got a sweet G35 coupe.
He doesn't think I could keep up with him in a straight line.
Having driven his car, I feel like my car could keep up for sure up to about 60 (second gear.) After 60 I think he may have an advantage because of the extra hp and torque. But I may actually be able to keep up the whole way....not sure yet.
Anyone here have any experience with the G35 coupe, especially at a drag strip????

i have an i/h/e on my jdm itr motor (188whp/129) and ive only raced a nissan Z not the g35 coupe and i have no problems pulling on them, not a hard pull but 2-2 1/2 car lenths
Like Iggy said, take it to the track.
And on a personal side note, the last autocross I drove, there were a slew of 350z's and G35's, I was driving like total kaka and maybe took 8th or 10th overall in my class but still beat almost all of their times except maybe one car.
The difference was the driver and most likely the power to weight ratio of the Nissan's. The course was high speed for an autocross with several sweepers and 4 chicago box's and several slaloms. I'm by no means a great driver but had a good deal more experience than almost all of the Nissan guys and my times reflected that as compared to their's.
In a straight line I could care less. Making the turns and carrying more speed through and out of them for that day at least, beat their grunt if you can call it that.
Take it to the track.
Best of luck.

Keep it on the track, But a while back I did get the opportunity to run a G35 on the highway and I killed it, there are not much competition from 50-100, I thought they had more...
