Default Price Check on 95 Accord EX

I recently checked out a '95 accord ex with about 165k miles and a few minor dings (grochery carts and the likes, which don't really bother me too much. although whoever did repair work on the front fender put it on a tad crooked.) Some accords I'm told are good for 200K+. It's perfect otherwise.

I checked around on other websites and dealerships but I could not find a comparison car that I could match the price against. The person who I am buying it from is asking for $4,000. All of the engine work has been done by the honda dealership, complete with reciepts. Would $4,000 be a fair price? KBB estimated about $4,500. Also, I haven't checked the VIN number yet, but from what she told me it has not been in any major accidents other than fender benders.

I'd like to get this car and do some work on it (engine and athestetics.) Any help appreciated, thanks.

Well if you plan on doing outside mods, such as body kit (or just a new front bumper) then it sounds like a nice car! About the high mileage, just do a FULL tune-up and keep on the maintiance, hondas do run forever when maintained well. And then when the engine ***** the bed you can drop a H22 in that bitch (or whatever you 5G guys do, im a 4G guy). I'd shoot for $3500 because of the high mileage, I know around here (delaware) I see 5Gs for around $4K all the time with around $100K miles and good condition.

My teacher's selling her 95 ex with the leather and sunroof and whatnot here for 2800 and i'm not sure about that price...it has 210,000 miles on it. When i get pics up i'll show you, but for now that's what she's asking for it, you could maybe base your purchase on her car...

depending on the condition of the interior, how well it was kept, maintenenced, etc, you could probly work on that price

your going to find fewer EX's in Nebraska than SoCal / coasts. That seems like a fair price for a one-owner dealer maintained EX.

Is it a 5spd?

it really depends how bad u want the car, cuz if u want it really bad.. ur gonna get it regardless of wat we say. haha.. but miles dont really matter much, you should do a compression test if u can and see if the motor is running good. but if hes asking 4000, im sure he left room for barganing.

It's an automatic, I think I'll be catching a lot of **** for it in the near future . I'm not really familar how hard a swap would be with an automatic, or if it's too much of a hassel.

I'm still kind of looking around, it's a friend of my mom's and she'll hold it for me before she puts it on the market. I'm not looking for a racing car, just a reliable nice looking one.

HOLD ON!, and I do mean HOLD ON! Ask about the ABS!! I have a 96 and was about to buy another one and the ABS light was on. It will cost a minimum of $900 to fix if the unit is shot. Food for thought.

Didn't you just buy that car from another member here not too long ago?? The link in your sig lists the car at $4500 which is more than what the previous owner here sold it for.

she's taking it in for a tune up and detailing before she sells it to anyone (hopefully me) so that shout get that out of the way.

after i buy it, i want to get the driver side window re-tinted (it was busted out) and i'd like to get some of those gauge covers for the speedometer etc etc but i can't find any that are darker green, only ones i ever see are neon blue. i'll probabally have body work done on it before winter gets here hopefully, other than that just minor interior additions.

i was thinking about getting new lights, but i can't find anything that's tasteful. someone mentioned JDMs headlights/taillights (never seen them installed before), something i'm still checking into.

anyone have sucess on installing an in dash computer or know anyone that has? i wouldn't want to spend money and get ripped off so i'm planning on building my own (i'd be pretty lost when it would come to mounting.) that's one of the things i've been looking into.
