Default Mini-Me + Greddy SP2 = too loud.

Well, I finally finished the Mini-Me that I built for a customer of mine (see http://groups.msn.com/Thumpu77....msnw for pics @ details) And it's running great! customer loves it EXCEPT he thinks the exhaust is too loud and raspy.

what it is:
*Ebay ceramic coated header
*Ebay "high flow cat" (accually a short glasspack in place of the cat)
*Greddy SP2 cat back

Personally, I love the sound!!!! much better than my POC Brosal cat back I have on mine! But he thinks it's just too loud. and not just durring VTEC, but throughout the RPM range! He also doesn't like the single big tip, he wants dual stock looking tips.

Any sugestions?

If it's basically a test pipe and not a cat, that's what's making the raspy noise.

or a resonator cat.................keep in mind, the greddy muffler is huge, hence it won't be loud..............i know, i own a few on my CRX, the second would be the HKS

The Greddy SP2 HAS a resonator, and this "high flow" cat IS a resonator!

So he's allready running 2 resonators in this system!!!

I've heard a thermal exhaust on a local hatchback and I know it's louder than the Greddy.

I just wish someone local had the HKS so I could compare the sound. My Brosal system is very similar to the HKS, and it sounded good for the first month I had it, but it blew out after a month and really sounds nasty now.

I got the Greddy off the internet and I think it's too late to return it. the customer wants to just cut the tip off and weld on a dual stock looking tip that has a built in silencer of some type.
