Carbon fiber is getting outta hand. I personally have a CF hood and spoiler but I wouldn't get a CF door nor a CF roof lining....

But I bet the doors we have on now will hold up a lot better that full carbon doors that have no support whatsoever. So before you roll your eyes and be negative to a statement that is true ONLY to stand out and be the one to be pessimistic, relax yourself, take a breath and think about it.

i understand it would be safer but if a f350 hit a civic. the car would callapse on itself as well as the roof when the truck smashes the car.
i have fiberglass doors on my drag car i know how a car could smash into the side..and i wouldnt recommend anyone runing them on the street for numerous reasons

I bet that carbon fiber is stronger than shitty Japanese steel (pot metal really).

Wouldn't just taking off the famework of the stock doors just work too? I mean, those CF ones won't be too safe in minor bang ups, and so why waste the money? just do that to your stock doors and then they will still be light and not cost as much.. but still unsafe ( er )

No such thing as too much carbon fiber

If I had the cash I would replace everything I can with it. Heavy, corrosion prone steel sucks. And for those who think too much is ugly well I somewhat agree but that's why they invented paint.

I'm looking for CF doors too, but the ones on eBay right now seem a little suspicious. I eMailed the seller and he said they weigh 33Kg each, which is twice as heavy as stock. I then asked if they were lighter or heavier than stock, and he replied that they were "much much lighter". Inconsistant.

Hmm perhaps I made a mistake in reading the seller's original reply. Though he states they weigh "33Kg each", I think he may have meant "3.3Kg each" which would put it in line with the weight of the Backyard Special CF doors, which are listed at 3.5Kg each. If that's the case, they might be something worth checking out if you're going for as much weight reduction as your class allows. But I'd rather buy from a more reputable vendor.
