alright i have 2.5 exhaust from the cat back to the exhaust without a resonator. I am planning on putting a resonator in between, my goal is for the exhaust sytem to be quiet enough on long drives, i mean more than 1 hour. the problem is it possible to get a welding shop to custom put in a resonator in between while still using the current piping? would you exhaust guys suggest using the oem resonator, or how about maybe one from another honda or acura car? please mention resonator size.

 

i dont know about resonator size but the muffler shop should be able to recommend you one. and yes they should be able to use the piping you have now and just add a resonator. i had that done before. i forgot how much it costed me tho...it was awhile back.

 

did your exhaust system beomce quiet enough for long drives?

 

yeah....resonator makes it quiet as long as you have your cat also. it still will be quiet with a resonator.

 

what kind of exhaust did you have?

 

You can even use a glasspack as a resonator. Go with the 2.5 inch.

Oh yeah cars without resonators sound crappy.

 

You can run a car without no cat but with a resonator it will stay quiet.
