Funny stuff... it's "wierd" that domestics feel that way about us and equate us to the "typical Honda Civic". That's like saying that the Z28 SS is just the same as a Cavalier... they are both Chevy's aren't they? But really they aren't... now are they? I don't think we generally make statements like that.

And the last time I checked, if spending 20 grand on even a Civic doesn't make it faster than a Mustang GT (of all domestics... ) someone has been seriously scammed... I saw some civic was running low 12s on a very hot and humid day last weekend...

And then to talk about fuel efficiency of a inline-4, speaking as a 17mpg V8... come on man...

I don't really think "we" hate them as much as they hate us... I think Edwin summed it up quite well last night after a Firebird Convertible almost plowed into a few rows of parked cars in a public lot while doing donuts in front of us: "This is ridiculous, What is it about Type-R's that spawns emotions like this?"

(NB: when I say "we", what I really mean is the import "scene" in general, not myself specifically, I couldn't use the word hate in my case... I mean, I got 2.2L of fury in my Sunfire, y0! That's 22% more displacement )

eh, just looks like a bunch of idiots on both sides of the arguement on that site.

I've driven all the cars mentioned in that thread and all have strong points. If I had to pick one for a daily driver, it'd be that guy's convertible WS6..

I'd say an R is not the best all around daily driver in that price range.

And dave doesn't have an R. Not that it really matters. He knows more about them for some odd reason than most of the R owners in here, lol.

Posts more than them too.

Ford has produced the biggest failure that took a step back for all of mankind.....................It's called the Mustang 5.0 V8 at 225hp!!!!

We may be "RiC3rs", but at least we have all our teeth and our significant others don't share the same family tree. Enough said, I'll take technology over displacement 8 days a week

The mere fact that this is even a discussion just goes to show what poor technology is being crapped out by the big 3. It would be more reasonable to compare the NSX to these vehicles (in regards to displacement), but they don't. Why not? Because the 3.2L in an NSX will eat up the 5.0L, and 4.6L Mustang engines.

<------Ryan, who doesn't respect any American "sportcars" besides the Corvette coupe and Z06, I would take these two in a heartbeat.

To be honest, I love my car, but there are moron's on both sides in that review. There's something to be said for the handling on the F-body's, it's not as bad as everyone says... though the R is much, much better. Daily driver? I'll take the R, but for a second car, I'd take a Trans Am in a second.

The Camaro SS can handle very well, maybe better then our Rs.
I might regret saying this but I almost bought a 01 Camaro SS instead of the R, the reason I did not is beacuse the R was the last year it will ever be made and the Camaro still had one more year to go and I was looking for a car that had some value to it ( or what ever ya want to call it).
