Default How to properly route a harness belt.

I have seen SOOOOO many people route their shoulder harnesses through the e-clips incorrectly, I decided to post this picture (Thanks Binky (my bro-in-law)) that shows the PROPER way to route the belt. At least now it will be in the archives.

And with this much time on his hands, we wonder why Nortel's stock is plummeting....

other information that will be surely asked:

DON'T
- wrap it around your rear strut tower brace
--As strong as you may think your strut tower brace is, it's not designed, nor reinforced, to handle the loads needed to hold a 170+lb human body decellerating at +2gs. Plus, the length of belt that is needed to reach the typical strut brace is entirely too long...since harnesses are designed to stretch a bit, more harness... further it'll stretch.
- wrap it around a B pillar harness GUIDE
--Another "not designed for that" reason. Plus, if you're trying to wrap it around a harness GUIDE bar, then you probably don't have the proper roll over protection... which leads into...
- use a harness without roll over protection
--it's been covered over and over...imagine you, in your Tenzo R seat , strapped in your pretty blue weapon R harness... now, imagine there was no roof or anything above the door...what's firmly affixed in an upright position... you and your head! Now, imagine that car upside down.

DO
- check the stamped date. I believe SCCA requires belts to be replaced every 5 years... NASA 3. But, i could be wrong.
- check the belts for wear. Sun, weather, your dog chewing on them make belts less effective.
- keep the bucket portion of the harness as close to your own belt bucket as close as possible.

Same procedure as in the NASA CCR.

Which shows it in four steps for dummies like me.
