KAAZ gear oil question..
With my KAAZ before I ran Redline MTL and a bottle of Ford Friction modifier. Used it with much success during HPDEs (I would change it after every event) and daily duties (every 5000kms)....
Can't recall what it costed but I'm certain it was less than $45.

Just called the company that imports KAAZ for the US and he said not to use synthetic oil with their diff. He did recommend the Ford friction modifier though. He mentioned Torco oil, which I have never heard of. He also said I could use just plain old Castrol 80W90 with Ford friction modifier but the Torco with the Ford friction modifier would be better.
Just recently arrived in Canada is the Motul Gear 300 COMPETITION 75w140. This oil is tested and recommended for all clutch type LSD trannies including the KAAZ type.
This oil was tested in Japan by Nismo and it is the oil used by most Japanese touring cars.
I have tried it on my ITR and it works great. I have a few customers using it in their Kaaz LSD and so far so good. However, at 38$CND a litre it is not so cheap.

clutch pack LSDs are different from a gear based ITR LSD.
Torco is well known in europe but I still live by the Redline MTL + Ford Fric. back in the days when I used Kaaz.
I've tried the Castrol and it shifts very notchy in our cold PacWest winters. Not sure what your climate/driving conditions are like, but when heated up, it did work quite well.
I ended up changing it more frequently as I could afford to do so....
bbqman knows wuts up tho. Some guys from A&J Racing have been using the Motul gear oil with good results too....

I have a Kaaz LSD in my car and I normally just fork out the 40 bucks for the fluid but I used to live in an area where it was hard to obtain it... so what kaaz also recommended was just simply 2 litres of Ford 80w-90 transmission fluid and one small bottle of the ford friction modifier. Last time I used that setup I believed it cost me like 12 or 13 bucks i think.

I did the cheap tranny oil with a bottle of ford friction modifier. I ran it for a few years. The kaaz still felt as tight as the day it was put in. I doubt you'll see any problems using a cheaper substitute.
