Default TRANS FLUID ???????

i have a 95 ex w/5 speed trans, d16z6. i need to be for sure what trans fluid i should use. the car is a summer driver only, gets stored during the winters. i have been told by people to use gm syncromesh, other people tell me just use 10w30 oil, other people tell me to use only honda m.t.f., and napa is telling me that the book calls for 75w90 synthetic gear oil. what should i use. the only honda dealer close is out of honda m.t.f. any help would be great.

thanks in advance.

I've always used honda mtf. Never had a problem with it. Alot of guys are running the GM Synchromesh and absolutely love it. I'm thinking about trying it the next time I change my fluids.

Don't use synthetic oil.

Use Honda MTF, BG Synchro Shift II, or GM Synchromesh Friction Modified (or regular Synchromesh, which can also be found under Pennzoil and Quaker State brand names).

10W-30 engine oil will work in a pinch, but I don't recommend it because it makes the tranny feel like ****.
