What is this noise??
I hear it mostly when autocrossing. Tight left handers, only when on the gas. It is from the right front , but its not the right side axle, I already replaced that thinking that was the problem. It is not a clicking noise, its more of a fast repetitive clunking noise. This is from a b16 with type r tranny. RJ. if you feel this is in the wrong forum, feel free to boot it out of here, I juts don't like dealing with all the other idiots from other forums. Any help would be great, I have some events coming up and I'd rather fix the problem at home instead of 4 hours from home at an autocross, without the right tools. Thanks in advance.

The balljoints seems fine, no play on any of them. Since the Entire axle was replaced, its not the CV joint. The bushings are fairly new, and they look good. Also, since it it not a single "clunk" or two when entering a corner, I don't expect it to be the bushings or the balljoint. It sounds EXACTLY like an axle has gone bad, you know, like "click, click, click" except its a "clunk clunk clunk" (very fast) that continues throughout the entire corner. I'm stumped.

Was the axle new or a remanufactured unit? If it's a reman, then maybe it's bad too...?
Christian, who knows it's a long shot but also knows that in an infinite unverse anything is possible

I'm not sure how a tie rod end link can make a noise like this. I cannot feel anything through the chassis. The axle is a reman, but like you said, it's hard to believe a different axle would make the EXACT same noise.
Which brings me to the wheel bearing. Doesn't a wheel bearing usually hum at speed, and wouldn't there be some play if it was worn?

Just because you replaced the axle does not mean that could not be the problem. What kind of replacement axle did you get? Is it OEM or a cheaper aftermarket. I have seen quite a few brand new aftermarket axles that were garbage and needed to be replaced.
Also, is there any rust on the inside of the rotor? I have seen this make this kind of noise quite often. You would not believe how much the rotor and suspension flexes during hard cornering.
As for the wheel bearing. You can have quiet wheel bearings with lots of play, you can have REALLY noisy bearings with no play and everything inbetween. There is no set rule.

I was going to say ball joint??? It's a crapshoot when it comes to reman axles but it would be odd for the exact same noise/symptoms to occurr between two different axles.... not impossible but odd.
Have you done any suspension work recently? Check, check, and recheck all nuts and bolts. If you have done anything recheck your lca??? A while back when I put my master bushing kit in I ended up with a nasty clunking coming from my rr during hard cornering or uneven pavement (the rest of the time it was fine; no noise) and I was 100% sure that I had checked and torqued everything.... well short version is it turned out to be a slightly loose bolt at the trailing arm that I somehow missed
even after checking everything... or so I thought. I torqued it down and no more clunking
Good Luck

Whenever I get weird noises/vibrations, I immediately check the things I've most recently fixed/replaced. IF that checks out, then look at anything connected to that hub and move outward.
