Default 04 Cobra with bolt-ons and ported blower = DAMMMMMM

Hey guys any one who loves fast car will like this info. My friend from a car club here in MD called Racersden.net. we have Imoprts and Domsetics. Put his 04 snake on the rollers at Maryland Performance Center. And hit 467 rwhp and a neck snaping 487rwtq with bolt-ons and a ported blower by Apten. His Mods are 2.8 inch blower pully , Catback , NGK spark plug, Apten cold air, Ecu flach, Ported blower,

What does that pully change the boost to?
For the money those are awesome cars IMO.

that's too little whp for a mustang. Got a guy here (which i hate, cocky MF) making 595whp, and a SS Camaro with a supercharger on 7psi making 500+ whp.

Those are heavy pig cars, 467 whp is not enough to carry 3800lbs around in the fashion it should.

I do love the way the suspension is on the new Cobras, though. One of my friends has one, and even though it's IRS is supposed to be inferior when it comes time to hook up off the line, he smokes most live axle ****. A heavy, stable car making it easier to launch, and the peakier power output associates with a blower help with that, but that's what makes the total package.

Superchips has claimed some good gains from their own reflashed cobra w/ 2.81" upper pulley + bolt-ons. (431.7 HP @ 5800 RPM & 454.8 FT/LBS Torque @ 3700 RPM).

X2C motorsports has a 88mm turbo on their 03 on 17lbs it went 10.03@142 , then on high boost it went a 5.88@122 in the eighth ,but tapped the wall ,and didnt finish the full 1/4 pass. it made like 785whp and 870wtq on 17lbs, stock as rocks.valve covers have never been off

I welcome posts about domestics. Every circle does things a little differently, and if you don't think there's anything to be learned from the domestic camp...

Nevermind the fact that the car will have stock reliability, go about 125 through the quarter and have a mind numbing torque curve with that much power, it just isn't enough

What do you mean very good cars for the money? Aren't the 04 cobra's around $40k?? That's a lot of money, espically when you know your going to start modding the car. Anyway, I love the cobra's, but that's about the only mustang that I like.

A ride in my brothers supercharged mach 1 would probably change your mind pretty quickly about that. Also to the other dude....the cobra isn't even close to 40k. More like about 30k.

Buddy of mine name Dave, had a 93 GT with Procharge and that thing meet the rails on day. In exchange he now has a 03 SVT Cobra.

Put that baby to the rollers and it belted out 443WHP with just pully and chip.

there is some locals easily running 550ish whp out of their cobras... twin screw kenne bells on the two I can think of immediately that were out at the cruises last week, cai, full exhaust, chiped, nx wet kits, gears, etc. which they were claiming to be high 9 second cars but they are full of ****... maybe low 10's on slicks if they can drive in my opinion.

anyways... look in any direction here and you will find high output v8 boys doing their thing... well lot of 6 cyl's too with the gn crowd prowling. most the real heavy hitters dont advertise and wont even waste their fuel on the street without some serious cash money.

I love domestics... but this is old news.

I hang door to door with my friend Jake's 03 Cobra off nitrous, he dyno'd 474 whp off/620 whp on. My CRX is plenty reliable... I weigh less than half, so I require less than half the power; I'm not pushing any limits here. The CRX goes to FL, the CRX goes to PA, the CRX goes to GA, the CRX goes to the beach, the CRX gets 20K+/year racked up on a build that cost $3000, including car, before it needs $400-1000 worth of servicing at the end of the year. Given price difference, I like my method, but that's my $0.02

It's a matter of perspective... I do know a number of Z06 owners who've sold their rides, and for what they got out of the Z06 they purchased a new Cobra and the modifications to make it run a lot faster. If I wanted a clean warrantied vehicle, a bitchgetter, and a good dollop of power rolled into one package I'd go with a new Cobra hands down. What I want is a good dollop of power, my car to be a test in female shallowness, and plenty of spendable/investable income - I've suceeded.

You need to Compair New Car Vs New Car Performance, For the money Your getting a Well balenced Car Thats Fast off the Show room floor, Very few cars Stock Vs Stock for the same Mid 30k price can Compair with the 03'+ Cobra!

And You cant compair a Older CRX to any newer Car, Trust me You think you did not spend much on your CRX, But The truth is A Camaro or Mustang or Like from around same Time period Can be Just as Fast if not alot faster for Less!

I agree to an extent, those cars back in 88-91 were not that much to talk about power wise. I think you would have to spend just as much in those cars to make power just like you would a CRX, although you can do ALOT with a 302. I mean any car can be made fast, it depends on how far you want to take it, and how deep your pockets are

A Twin Scerw 6psi kit no cooler will get you 350rwhp and 380rwtq on 6 psi. Now a 8psi intercooled kit will put the littie 4.6 Modular at 400rwhp and 435rwtq Thats more power then my Pro- Charged GT= 390 RWHP 380TQ DAMM YOU KENNE BELL

if the cobra weighed about 500 lbs less i'd probably consider it. but it's just too damn heavy.

great numbers, don't get me wrong....but imagine how much faster AND more nimble it would be with even a 500 lb weight drop.

You heard of Trilogy Motorsports?

They make a hell of a kit for the new Mercury Marauder.
We're putting one on next week, ... it looks very nice out of the box.
390'ish whp when complete... but its engineered to be oem-spec, last forever

I talked to the guy that started / owns the company, he's a pretty cool guy that does OEM engineering for Ford, and has this as a side-gig. Check out their websie, its neat-o.
