Default Back pressure question

i bought a b20/vtec from a guy on this site, few people are saying that i cant run a stock 4-2-1 header with my muffler because of the back pressure, they say to get the dc 4-1 header so there isn't any back pressure. So i figure i'd ask the best place here.

Motor
98 b20b
84.5 wiesco pistons
eagle rods
gsr portflow head
type r valves, portflow retainers and springs
skunk 2 stage 2 cams
AEM blue cam gears
skunk 2 manifold
Siemens 440c injectors
AEM silver fuel rail and regulator
CTR crank pulley
gsr tranny, action clutch
Hondata 2B

Thank you, Andrew

If it were me, and I had spent the money on that motor, I'd run a custom 2.0L VTEC header such as SMSP. A stock 4-2-1 manifold will be a definite restriction, and even a DC JDM 4-1 wouldn't be ideal.

a stock header would just waste your motor.

get a custom one from almost any major custom header company

unless you got that motor for like 50 bux it would be a god damn shame and a sin against the honda gods to run a OEM header on that engine.

look into ANR, headertech, smsp, dtr or the bare minumim jdm dc 4-1 or jdm oem honda 4-1

Look into buying a JDM ITR 4-1 header, thats what I have, affordable too. Won't have to worry about quality because you know its a honda product.

I got mine from http://www.jhpusa.com $400 shipped.

Are you wondering if is going to damage the motor? Is that why you are asking?

It shouldn't hurt anything, but the restrictiveness will probably cause things like decreased gas mileage. To what extent, I'm not sure.
