Pic and video of me at California Speedway
A few of us went to California Speedway on 5.30. We ran on the same configuration as the AMA guys... that track is crazy fast. The video is onboard my bike, session 2 of the day.

I would love to do something like that, but seriously even with all of that gear and you take a spill..... im just not sure if i could do that. I dont know how bad it can be when you spill fully geared in a controlled environment like that.
I would love to do that though.

It's not that bad when you take a spill, trust me. I took a pretty nasty lowside, tumbled (not slide) 100+ yards, and came out with a couple of bruises. The bike didn't fair too well though LOL. If you're gonna do any fast riding, back protector with a tail bone cushion is a must. I'm sitting really awkward right now cuz I bruised my tail bone.
DrunkNRacer: Yeah, some of the riders were a little weird, like one dude that just changed his line at the last minute to go all the way outside. If I tried to sneak by, he would have hit me. I didn't want to take my chances.
MSchu: LOL, it's just a pain in the butt to rest your bike down without a side stand though. I took some of the corners late to try to avoid a few dips and bumps at the entrance and the exit, or trying to gain by outbraking people. Some, I took it early to try to carry more speed at the exit. And yes, I take the middle line by choice LOL, influenced by Reg Pridmore at Classrides.com. Oh, that was my 3rd time there.
Marmalade: No other vid at this time please. I'm never going to hear the end of it.

Thats crazy, I guess I need to see or actually fall to understand. That sort of is what makes me nervous.... I didnt want to think like, ohh well if I fall im dead. How fast were you going? And im guessing lowside means you fell when you were leaning over too far or something?

Well, It's not your normal lowside since I locked my brakes and lost the front when the bike is still up, then the bike slammed me down onto the pavement, and I tumbled my way and hit my head several times on pavement (felt it every time too). I was doing about 120mph+ before I brake for the corner, and crashed way before I need to turn. I'm not sure how fast I was going though, usually don't look at the speedo, but I'd say about 60-80mph.
I think clin20 saw how I was almost always out accelerated by other bikes. My F4i is completely stock, down to the stock exhaust. I rather spend money on on riding classes and track days than modding it out though. I don't think I can ever use all of the power of the bike anyway. Plus, if I mod it out, I will have no excuse for my slowness LOL

I finally rescheduled my Fastrack novice school (was suppose to be the Feb weekend that was cancelled b/c of heavy rain). Can't wait. Went to Willow Big Track last month and been feenin' to go to the track since.

That was level 2, 2-3s off pace of level 3. If you have already been to a track, I think you can just skip the school. It's expensive IMHO.

It's only $100 more. I'm hoping to get my money's worth off what they teach. I think proper teachnique pays off in the end. People say they learn more in track school than they did in all the years they've ridden. I was hoping to go to a more technical school like Cali SuperBike School or to STAR (I think you went there), but they were all booked and they don't continue west coast classes until the fall.
You going at the end of the month??? I'll be there with my girlfriend. We're both enrolled in school, so we'll both be in level 1 wearing tacky T-Shirts over our leathers (worn by novice school riders)
