Filling holes in tub left by removing race buckets, etc?

Well guys, I have made the decision to give up HPDE's until I have a 2nd car so I don't have to worry about writing off my one and only car.
So I will be removing my Sparco Evo's that I drilled right through the floor, and need a way to fill/cover these holes to prevent water, etc from entering the car.
I will be leaving the roll bar and harnesses as I will still be autocrossing.
So what do you guys think, or have done to cover/fill these holes?
Thanks for any help,
Jon

Don't do it Jon. No reason to give up on HPDE, just make sure you have the right insurance carrier. I had to switch from Allstate to Liberty Mutual because Allstate added a clause that targeted any off-street/closed course use. Most policy's just exclude racing or timed events.

I wish it was that easy Jeremy...
The entrance fee's, hotel rooms, tires, brake pads, fluids, I just don't feel like I'm in the financial position to do this right now. As much as I want to continue to learn and have fun at HPDE's, I have really thought this out and think that auto-x is the place for me right now as a 20 year old kid.
The roll bar and harnesses are staying, but the seats just have to go. Despite what I thought when buying them, I have gotten tired of daily driving them and 'dropping' into the car.
And before I forget, Jeremy, did you happen to find my favorite hat under the seat of the Team Honda s2k?

The best way would be to cut some square tabs out of sheet metal and weld them to the floor over the holes after it's been cleaned/stripped real good (similiar to how you fix rusted out floor boards).
Then just spray the underside with some of that black under-carriage stuff to seal it off from the elements.
Good Luck

Sorry to hear that. I am in a similar situation, so I only do 1-2 a year.
Are you still going to autocross?

Yeah GspeedR, I'm gonna keep autocrossing.
The road racing is going to be put on hold until I have a dedicated track car with a full cage in it and the money to go behind it.
I dunno if you read my thread a couple weeks ago about giving it up for a while, but I think it's the right decision for me right now.
Therefore, no need for FIA fixed buckets in a daily driver, so they're gonna go. I am gonna try to sell them locally, but if any of you guys on here want them and want to spring for shipping let me know.

I'll try to remember to take a look on Saturday when I'm at the shop. BTW, I finally pick up my S2 tomorrow.
For expenses, we've got lots of used tires and 1/2 used pad sets that go for cheap. Your always welcome to crash in our hotel, after all hotel rooms split 3 or 4 ways is pretty cheap.
I can see reducing the number of events due to budget but don't give it up entirely.

How to track your car on the cheap
Instruct
Buy used falkens
Carbotech brake discount for instructing
Split hotel between 4 people
Eat hotel breakfast, lunch is usually provided for instructors, and usually a banquet saturday evening for dinner. Anything else (snacks, apples, water, gatorade) I bring with me.

Damn, nobody told me about the brake discount for instructing. I'll have to ask Matt about that next time I call (soon).

Rough up the paint and use epoxy to "weld" the tabs down or up. Seam seal them inside and out.

I would just use auto body seam sealer - available at any auto parts store in a caulk-type tube. Then spray with rubberized undercoating on the bottom side and a close Krylon color up top.
If you were neat about it, after a year or so it wouldn't even be obvious that something had been done.

You can also cover the holes with small pieces of aluminum HVAC tape. (This stuff is real thick aluminum foil with adhesive backing) Then paint over it and you can hardly see where the holes were.
