Default what holds the rear speaker covers in a coupe down

I just ordered a set of rear speaker covers for my 95 Ex off of ebay. The previous owner must have had them removed for some odd reason (i don't know maybe weight saving or something) But I got the covers and I couldn't figure out what to screw them into. Am i missing some sort of plastic or wood connector, which connects the covers to the metal piece of the trunk? Thanks in advance.

You have to remove the rear shelf, they are screwed from the bottom.

edit> nevermind, I was thinking about cutting out the holes to install speakers on the dx models. sorry

no need to remove rear dash they screw in through that dash piece and you can hit it through the holes under the dash frame

Leave the rear deck, put the covers on top of the rear deck from the inside and screw them onto the deck from inside the trunk. Look up in the trunk and you'll see the holes where the cover lines up.

so basically the rear speaker covers screw into the actual "cardboard like" rear area above and behind the rear seats?
