My passenger airbag rattles like a fart can every where I go if the road isn't smooth enough. It has become worse and worse and there is like a 1/2 cm. gap all the way around. How can I tighten this damn thing down or how can I remove it all the way? I remember seeing airbag trays on here and was wondering if anyone has any insight on them and how to fix this problem. Thanks.
You gotta get up under the dash. There is 2 gold (i believe) nuts that hold the air bag down. I think you might have to take the glove box out though. To take the glove box out its just 2 screws on the bottom side and 1 screw holding the plastic hydrolic arm to the glove box. Thats how it was on my 95 civic ex.
to tighten it, you have to pull the glove box. There are 4 bolts underneath. 2 hold the airbag to the dashboard, and two hold the airbag and dash to the firewall. Its easy to get to the second set....they're straight up. The others are a little more difficult. Let me know and I'll try explaining more....
they r 10mm bolts
4 of them and ur gunna need and extension and a swivel if u dont hve a swivvel u can join several extensions and they will flex to get one of the nuts cuz its at a wierd angle
