Default I just picked up an LS motor for real cheap, should I start a project?

I just have an LS motor, it has 96K on it, needs a new rings and head. I have an extra head that was thrown in with the deal. The wiring harness is all there, just no alt., starter, etc. Also now I need a car. I just want like an EF hatch or like an EF 91 four door. What all will I need? I know now I need a car, mounts, axles, ECU. This motor is OBDII is that a problem? What else do I need? I'm new to the swap world. I just want to run an LS motor, with GSR tranny, and turbo it. Can I just change out pistons and rings and it won't be too costly? I know a lot of variables go into effect but, I want to make this a cheap beater track car for 1/4 mi. times. I want to pick up a car for like $500-$800. Can I keep this project under $5K, or am I gonna make myself in debt. I may just upgrade my jrsc gsr instead instead of doing this, but the whole point is the project wouldn't be daily driven, my gsr is.

Before anything else...list the items that you need to get this motor to run (with no problems), then list everything else, turbo, tranny, mounts, ecu, axles etc...and add it up. Then decide.
