I sat on one at the dealer yesterday, it was a little big for my 5'10 135lb frame

I'd like to see someone pass a road test on one of those

125 Cubic inches equals 2.04838 Liters, thats better, damn foreigners

The tuned SS stuff I have seen using Harley bases were making 115HP

It about torq.. not total HP out put... specially if your only considering lower speeds(up to 80mph). Monster torq from harleys or big bore twinns

i guess so.

the sportbike still beat him with much less torque

(its all about power/weight ratio if you ask me...but i digress)

If you want to get right down to it, it is actually how well the tire grips the road. if you can't hook up, you can't beat sheeet

wanna get further in to it...

http://www.v8914.com/Horsepower-v-torque.htm

I'm inclined to agree with this guy since I haven't put nearly as much thought in to this debate as him.

BTW a few of the F/I cars on this site make more torque than an F1 car... none that I know of make as much power.

Horsepower pwnz torque.

hmmmmm...

'Let’s calculate the acceleration rate for both engines in a hypothetical 2500 lb. car using the transmission from the 1995 RX-7'

Theory is great, V10 F1 engine.....<100kgs, dirty stinking lump of 1950's diesel 'a little more'

Anyway, back on subject, Harley's are and will always be hopeless. If one ever did catch you in a straight line it would only be a matter of waiting until the first corner. Crap.
My 'theory' is that you would not have sufficient aerodynamics available with the diesel, nor a decent weight balance.
