In Depth Zex Nitrous Install On An EF ??
Im looking to install a Zex dry kit on my sohc zc non vtec.
Ive looked all day before posting this so please dont bitch.
Just looking for an indepth how-to on how to install the kit, wire it properly, adjust the timing, tap the intake etc etc
First- what size tap will I need for the intake? because school is over very shortly and I have a spare intake I can tap
Thanks for the help

Heard the install was easier, cheaper kit.
Was on a budget and found a great deal for the kit / purge / heater /gauge for $350
Just need some help installing it, a guide whould show me how much trouble Im getting my self into and if I should bring it to a shop (no money to do so anyways)

But that shows nothing on how to adjust the timing
Also I didnt see it mention how to activate the nitrous? Like dont I have to make it so the nitrous comes on during wide open throttle? I didnt see that there

Oh boy ... what I'd do is wire it up in the instructions, then move the throttle rotor to WOT and see if the solenoid turns on.
Search for retarding timing

Oh so I really dont have to do anything about the WOT? I thought I had to to something, Im assuming the wiring that the instructions give me somehow does it for me?

The ZEX box is wired to the TPS sensor, that's how it gets it's signal. There's a procedure to ensure that it works properly though ... I forget how you do it.
Actually, look at STEP 9

2 degrees for a 65 shot right?</TD></TR></TABLE>
To be safe yes, roughly 1degree per 50 and 1 step colder plug per 50. Of course 2 degree and 2 step colder plug would be your best bet. If your going to use the nirtous primarily at the track it would be a good idea to change your plugs out when not on the bottle.

Ouch, those are hot plugs, not good for nitrous, youll want something in the 7-8 range. I use 6's in my ZC...5 is too hot for n2o.
Yup, 46 is good, 1.1mm. And yes lower number is hotter, higher is colder, ranges from 2-11. you want colder plugs due to the extreme combustion chamber temps with nitrous, it prevents detonation. Grab some 7's-8's.
get the ngk's
like the others said the zex bocks hooks into your tps to work at wot
you might look into getting an msd window switch so that you nitrous is only on through a certain rpm range, this will help with wheel spin, and prevent you from running nitrous when you switch gears.
