Doesn't seem any amount of gear would have kept him injurless in that wreck. Very compelling story and I am extremely sad to know the outcome. May he finally rest in peace.

I don't think that he would have walked away if he were wearing his gear, but it does seem that most of his injuries would have been prevented or at least lessened from gear.

RIP Eric

Hope he is in a better place now.

Please forgive me if I sound insensitive, but this guy was able to walk, speak intelligently, see, type, etc. and he took his own life? On top of that he had a son. What gives? I wish his son the best. That's gotta be tough.

This is horrible... but I want to emphasize this point to everyone...

You need to drive DEFENSIVELY on a bike also... people in cars do not care about us because of a few bad apples or they just don't experience the same danger factor being behind airbags and in a seatbelt. As in the story, all it takes is a touch of a bar end and your life could be over...

I hate reading these stories... don't let yourself become one.
