Widest tires on HX rims
Im looking to buy tires soon and was wondering what is the widest tires that would fit on 14 inch Civic HX rims without tire bulge. I know 185's fit fine. Would I be able to run 195's with no tire bulge?

I never knew u could even go that big.. I have 185's on my hx rims right now.. I think I'm gonna go a bit bigger tho when I get new tires.. which wont be for a while since mine are still in perfect condition

well according to the auto-x forum you can fit 225 on 5 inch wide rims, so, if your fenders can fit it you can too have 225
i personally wouldnt go that wide...but i would get 195/55/14 for the hx rims...

Ditto on the 195-55-14. You get the increased width of a 195 with nearly the same size diameter as a 186-60-14. Problem I have with 195-60-14 is the larger sidewall changes the gearing somewhat.
Only problem with the 195-55-14 is there aren't a lot of choices. When my Bridgestone Re-71 (discontinued) wear out, I'll be looking for a set of Toyo T1-S.
Alternately the Dunlop sp8000 is popular. You can also get them in Kumho v700 or a couple different Hoosiers.
