what is the lowest hp dohc zc ecu
i need the lowest hp ecu i can get for the dohc zc. the reason is that my parents don't want me to have a excessively fast car for my first car (can't blame them). i was thinking that maybe a 86-87 integra ecu would detune it enough, but i wasn't sure if it would run right. basically, i just want to get it down to the 110-115 hp range.
Ive got nitrous in my first car and a competition killing stereo, you think my parents liked it lol?
I told them this is what I love and what I want to try to pursue as a career, let me do what I want with my money

Id say to use the Si ecu, from what i heard it "detunes" the engine quite a bit..to about the power of the stock Si engine i believe, although i won't know until i do my swap...yay for me

its funny cuz if i drop it it spins and then drop real low and at aboult 4000 rpm it kicks your head back but red lines at 6
and the 87 ecu wont work i have one cuz some one told me it would work --- yeah well nope

will the sohc d16a6 ecu work on the on the dohc zc? i just assumed that you would have to use a dohc ecu. i will be using a stock civic dx exhaust, which will detune it some i guess. will the hp be around 120 if i used a 89 integra ecu?

Yes the D16A6 ecu is the PM6, and it will work. The PM6's from the '88-'89 Si's aren't as aggressive as the '90-'91's.
FYI, there aren't any specific DOHC or SOHC ecu's per se'. Any ecu for a 1.6 litre MPFI car will work.

Okay, not to burst anyone’s bubble here, but lets face it, your not gonna be setting any land speed records with a ZC motor. Stock ZCs really aren’t that much quicker than the stock USDM Si, (unless they are rebuilt perfectly, then they are pretty good. I’m assuming your not rebuilding the motor) but it has much more tuning potential and reacts well to any modifications due to the DOHC config.
Explain to your parents that just because someone tossed a bag of coke in front of your face don’t mean you’d snort it (would you?), it’s the same with any car. Just because the power is there doesn’t mean you will be burning out all over the place. Prove to your parents that you’re a responsible driver and I’m sure they will lay off.
I honestly cant think of an ECU that will really bring down the power THAT much. Id say just stay off the gas. You shouldn’t be driving like a tard on the streets anyway. And just so you know, your parents are smart people. New drivers with modded rides that cant drive **** me off too. Lol

it's mostly my mom, because she doesn't want me to get tickets. i already told them that i can go just as fast with lower hp, it will just take a little longer to get there. i might just use a si ecu then and change it over to a better ecu after a couple months.
another question, can i put a 88 gauge cluster in a 91 by cutting wires of the same color and soldering them together?
