B16a Swap problems, Please Help (Kinda Long)
The Car is 1989 Civic Si, 253K miles. It had a good running D16A6 from an 88 CRX Si that i swapped in about 3 years ago b/c the old motors timing belt let loose. I bought a B16a from an Integra XSi w/ LSD and PWO ecu from a trustworthy mechanic near me (Im not sure where he ordered it from). I used Hasport mounts, linkage, axles, and harness. Before a picked it up from him, I had the timing belt, water pump, wires, cap, rotor, plugs, valves adjusted, and clutch replaced. I also replaced the fuel filter and radiator while I was at it. In addition I moved he battery to the back using a Steel Summit relocation box w/ and Optima battery and ran 0 guage welding wire up to a distribution block w/ `1 line to the starter and 1 line to the fuse box. I started the swap last November and procrastinated and Im finally trying to finish it. When putting the engine in, I had a hell of a time with the rear mount, so I decided to pull the intake manifold. I figured since I had the IM out, might as well replace it w/ a AEBS manifold and Hondata intake gasket. Also I didnt want to screw around with Meineke so I bought a Hasport header and got a 99-00 Si AEM CAI from Summit. I pretty much got everything together now but it wont start. Im unsure of some vacuum lines, but I think I finally got everything else right. I checked all the grounds and they seem good. I initially thought my ecu was bad so I got another ecu (It wasnt the ecu, it was a missing ground). My cel comes on for 2 sec when I turn the key to on, I hear the fuel pump come on, it cranks fine, but it wont start. I pulled the return off the fuel rail and I have gas there and I pulled a plug and it has spark. When I pulled the plug, it didnt smell like gas but Im getting injector pulse voltage at the plug. I tried some other troubleshooting stuff to no avail, can onyone think of anything Im missing that may be causing the car not to start. Thanks
It seems like tried everything I could think of but I noticed you said you pulled off the return line. did you try the line from the filter. Or check if the filter was clogged. I dunno what else it could be. If you're 100% positive that your ignition is working properly and all your grounds are properly connected to the right spots, it has to be a fuel problem.
I replaced the fuel filter during the swap and I do have a slight leak at the filter that I think I can solve by some tightening. I also replaced the main relay 2 years ago so I dont think its bad. Im thinking of pulling an injector plug and hooking up a spare injector just to see if it sprays, if it does, I guess Ill have to pull the actual injectors and also check to see if all plugs are firing. Is there a possibility my screwed up vacuum lines could be causing it not to start? I think I've got most of them right, but Ive yet to find a definitive wiring diagram for the AEBS manifold.

Well Ive been checking on it and even when I crank on it a while and pull a plug, it doesnt smell like fuel, but I know I definately have fuel at my rail and all fuses are good. Tried swapping resistor box with a spare to no avail. My camera batteries are dead, Ill pick up some this afternoon if necessary to get pictures of my vacuum setup. My Vacuum setup is as follows, I hooked up the was I was sure of based on the diagram and go stumped on the others.
Line from Valve cover to CAI.
Line from Fuel Pressure thing on roal to back of manifold.
Line from Manifold to Drivers side port on MAP sensor on firewall.
Upper line from MAP sensor to canister.
Lower line from map to Throttle body port nearest CAI.
Still have spare port off TB and one off thing tight above throttle return (Dont know what its called).
ALso empty port off canister on firewall.
I used the diagram but the AEBS manifold is kind of different.
Also when using an AEM CAI for 99-00 Civic Si, It says to switch some sort of intake sensor to the AEM, which isnt possible, so thats another vacuum port Im missing. What has everyone done to solve that problem b/c I cant switch the one form the sotck intake arm. (I just plugged the hole in the AEM w/ a bolt so it wouldnt suck in dirt). Thanks

Also my Map sensor only has 3 lines coming out of it (Single MAP sensor as opposed to the 2 in the pic, but the car is an Si.) I can swap it to a 2 MAP sensor assembly if I need to, I have 3 CRX Si parts cars (88 that was rearended, 91 SI that was supercharged and broadsided, a 1990 Si that was gutted of interior and engine/tranny and a mint 1991 CRX Si w/ 67K original miles sitting in my garage that my brother bought new and I bought from him in 1994.) BTW the way, the 1991 has US OEM fogs, I still have the original box they came in and instructions if someone needs some info from them.
Got it running, pulled injectors and pressed in on the pintle then reinstalled, going to have injectors cleaned and balanced soon, throwing a CEL and running rough, still in the process of troubleshooting, Thanks.
