Default Yet another project..

Well i had finally put in my supercharged d15b7. I never could get it to run right so got really pissed and took tha "pos" back outs my car. Instead im going to put my DOHC ZC engine back in with a built head. Tha head cost me $400, it had over a $1,000 of work done do it..port and polish, valves, ect. Well anyways here are some of tha pics so far.

The jrsc d15

My new head

The port and polish of course

And here is the old zc, im only using tha block.

lol i have too many parts just laying around..

Well thats bout all tha pics i have. Anyone know what kinda hp#'s i should get out of this built zc. Ill prolly have more pics up tomorrow when i finnish it. Hope u enjoy tha pics.

Are you planning on Boosting the ZC?

I bring it up as every DOHC ZC I’ve seen that has been NA with a Porting job has actually lost HP numbers. The ports these heads come with are extremely large as is (same size as a GSR head pretty much).

Maybe I am missing something, but I would be interested in seeing a dyno on it once it is finished. I am not speaking from personal experience, only reading I have done.

Anyone here have any personal experience with a P&P’d DOHC ZC head?

Definitely let us know what you find out, and how it runs when its on the car!

Usually the reason WHY they lost power is because whoever did the P&P did not use a flow bentch. The FB tells the person what part to port out in order to see better flow! If you just go around DIY P&P you might (50/50chance) lose power.

Sorry to scare ya, but to my understanding, it usually isn’t a good idea on a DOHC ZC as like I said, the ports are pretty damn big to begin with.

Let us know how this turns out as I’m really interested. The last thing I read about this was some guy who had a P&P job and was complaining about the car being really slow, it turned out the only thing it could have been is the P&P job.

Anyway, give us the report when you know more, Dyno or *** Dyno findings. Take it to the track and see what happens.
