Default The Longest Straight on Sebring's Long Course?

How long is it?
For those who have been to these tracks, how does it compare to the back straights at Road Atlanta and VIR as far as length and terminal speed are concerned?

TIA

Scott, who has to choose tires carefully for new tracks else he might run out of car before he runs out of straight, which ain't good.

I've run it for HPDE's in my ITR a couple of times... top speed on the long straight was somewhere in the neighborhood of 125-130ish if I remember correctly. I can always go take a look at my in car video if you need a more exact figure.

Same speeds I get @ VIR and Summit, FWIW.

Its pretty damn long. You will prob reach about the same speed as you would get on the front straight of RR if you have been there.

Perhaps the title of this book chapter would be: "Uncle Catch Goes To Florida... And Races!"

If we go, it will be Uncle Catch's first race in sunny Florida.

I've scoured the web for a track map that includes turn radii (sp?) and distances but have come up empty. Swell.
Maybe I'll call Mr. LTB tomorrow. I'm quite sure he's done the long course and know he's very familiar with RA and VIR.

Scott, who can run 225/45 at RA but needs 225/50 at VIR and is wondering where Sebring fits in that equation.

From what I recall, it's about as long as VIR, but flat as a pancake, and rutted with pavement expansion joints. Wham, wham, wham, wham, wham, (repeat for the 5 minutes it take to go down the straight) I'll try to find the map I saw.

yeah it's really bump Sebring is. Be prepared to swap out your liver after the first few sessions

When i had my ITR i hit 130mph consistently but I also had A032R's and JDM FD pushing 185whp.

well, here's a video from Sebring's site showing a Speed GT Vette Z06:

I suspect that his speeds on the straights may be a little more than yours though...

It's right around 1200 yards. And as others have said, it's dead flat and pretty bumpy.

So when would you be down?

I don't recall the back straight being that bumpy at all, but I do remember the front straight to rattle just about every bolt loose in the car.

I would hit around 100 mph or so in my Civic Ex.

Yup, the back straight is very nice and smooth. The front straight, however, is a different story. Sounds like a horse galloping.
