Can someone tell me how to mod the K&N filter for the stock airbox?

Part number is E-2427.
You can get it here: http://www.martelbrothers.com/...9&y=5
And remember, this is a direct replacement, you don't have to modify anything.

The K&N stock replacement for Integras is junk and WAYYYYY overpriced. It doesn't even fit like stock (no rubber seal at the filter neck to seal the airbox, and no rubber nib on the end for support).
A better fit is the RU-2820. Take a stock filter, cut off the paper element, and snip off the metal frame. Then you should be able to break the epoxy out of the plastic base (the filter neck). Then attach the K&N w/ a hose clamp.
I also suggest breaking the epoxy off the stock filter endcap (the piece w/ the rubber nib on the end), drilling 4 holes, and attaching the endcap to the K&N w/ 4 small screws. Then it will fit 100% like factory. Best of all, it only costs about $30.

.....is this the best filter for people using just the stock itr intake elbow for a short ram? I am trying to figure out what filter to put on this thing or if I should get a 3" short ram (AEM) instead.....

yes, this filter will also work like a short ram.

well this filter I'm using does have a 3" flange, so it will fit on any 3" intake pipe.
