Help, Installed Sony Head Unit using Wiring Harness and no FM...
Alright i just got my 97 Honda Accord LX and i installed my Sony Head Unit using the wiring harness from crutchfield.com after hooking everything back up i turned on the radio and got no sound at all, so i put in a cd and it played fine so it looks like the problem is the antenna isnt picking up anything. I made sure the cable was plugged in and it is so what could be the problem? I have no antenna sticking out anywhere so its not because its not getting power or anything, not sure if anyone else has had this problem or not if you have please help me out here.
You get nothing at all, not even static? What about AM?
If you are getting static or the stations very weak, then I'd say it was the antenna. If you aren't getting anything at all, it may be the radio.
Then again, I'm not a radio expert, though I've put in a few in my days. Try asking also in the audio forum.

I know for sure on the 95's that there's a seperate wire for the antenna. Check to see if you have one or that its plugged in.

are you getting any sound out of the radio at all while its on fm/am?
some cars have an extension on the antenna cable. its basically just an adapter that makes it longer to reach the back of the headunit.
check to see that the part you plugged into the back of the radio, is plugged into the actual antenna plug.
a 97, it might have an internal antenna embedded into the window.
check your rear window , it looks like the same defogger lines but it goes in the middle, top, or bottom of the window, you can tell the diffrence.

call up crutchfield. thats the beauty of ordering from them, they will help you with any problems you have
I'd almost bet its the single wire going to the deck. Are you SURE you plugged it in? Itd be just a single black one, about 1/2 the width of coax seperate from the rest of the harness.
