Same here, however I'm about to finally install my 6 month old/used Smurf calipers on the other car but am somewhat hesitant to do so w/o consumables for them in terms of o-rings and whatever's needed to refurbish them.

Maybe these items can be purveyed from another source ...

I remember reading about something they are not rebuildable, but I would like to know also. That would really change some things.

I know a few guys down in Tokyo, I can see what I can find out as well.

I have been running Spoon Calipers for close to two years and I have not needed to rebuild them.

I am curious to know how you know they have to be rebuilt?

AFAIK there's no rebuild kit available for the Spoon calipers.
However, after using them for about 4 to 5 years, I still haven't seen the need of rebuilding them yet.

There are no rubber seals around the pistons. Hardk0re race clapper sty0!
But there must be some other rubber seals inside, but can't be seen or measured unless you take the whole thing apart.

That doesnt' sound right....there is no dust shield, but there should be a rubber seal in a gr00ve on the piston, between the caliper body and piston itself.

Got this pic from itrsport.com's thread from a while ago:

When looking at the pistons, there's no rubber boot or seal between the pistons and the caliper body.

How does it create a fluid seal then?

I don't see what the picture shows....I dunno if we're talking about the same thing.

A stock caliper has two rubber rings on it...the outer one which is the dust b00t and can be seen when chaning pads, and an internal rubber ring, which is the seal, and can't be seen unless the piston is removed out of the caliper. It creates the seal between the caliper body and the caliper piston, so the fluid doesn't leak out.

I don't see how the sp00n calipers do not have rubber/plastic seals.

Correct Wai...so take those clappers off, get a supply of compressed air...place a stick of w00d in the clapper...and P0000F, out come the pistons

I think it has O rings inside.
