AEBS IM vs. Ported ITR IM
Well I have a stock ITR IM, a ported ITR IM, and I am contenplating the AEBS IM. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on these or dyno charts? Also, I would like the comparison of the ITR vs. the ported one. One more question. I was wondering what the stock runner size was and what the inlet size was stock?
Oh yeah, I have a Type-R with I/H/E, and test pipe. So I was just wondering which would work best.
Thanks

I don't know about the ported one, but I love my AEBS IM. I never had it dyno'd cuz I didn't want to waste $ on tuning at the time, since I was still buying motor parts. I felt a bit of gain from it and noticed the motor sounded different too. It looks cleaner than the stock IM too. All the connections are on the back side.
from what Ive seen so far, you are probably not gonna get much more power from the ported or AEBS IM. The ITR IM flows fine. Youll probably see better gains from:
1 Lighter flywheel
2 lighter wheels
3 final drive JDM or 4.9
4 no interior
5 octane booster

This is all true, but the AEBS IM is a great bang for the buck, at only $150, its far cheaper than lighter wheels, flywheel, and final drive.

This is also true
I would be curious to see a before and after dyno plot with is setup to see how the IM performs. Preferrable is his car is running a VAFC and can tune before and after as well.

Thanks so much for that Dyno plot link.... I thought that the AEBS would do better I just didn't know what the differene would be. So, I know I can sell my stock IM and make more than I will pay for the AEBS.
Also, The AN-R or the Hondata Gasket. Which one is better or does it make a difference?
Thanks much

Well, a friend of mine bought one, and it looked very good on the inside. It looked about as rough as the skunk2 or my ITR manifold. HOWEVER, we have one at our shop and it looks like someone attacked the inside of the runners with a chizzle right where it meets the plenum. It's very ugly and hacked up looking.
We haven't noticed any fitment problems though.

I bought a kit from a company called outlaw engineering. Similar idea as the Hondata gasket, only it's about a .5" thick, and comes with spacer gaskets for the TB and IACV. It also comes with all the gaskets needed and the new studs and bolts since you have to remove your original studs out of the head. Only $110 shipped!

I'm installing it today with my ITR manifold.
Also, h-t member T-Bone has it on his all motor car and is making 23Xwhp. He has a pretty crazy setup though.

So your installing your's today.. Can you get some pics of the install? I would love to see the install of this item. Is your ITR IM stock? As far as ported or something like that? Also is your install going to be on a stock ITR???
Thanks for the info this is really interesting to me..

I thought I would get to install it today, but I ended up having to pull the head off and sent it to the machine shop to get milled this morning. It will be on by this weekend, I will have pics if you like. I'm also having the machine shop pull all of the Intake manifold studs out of the head for me while it's there.
My ITR manifold is completely stock, untouched, unmolested....I might match port the runners, but we'll see.
It's going to be installed on a B16A.

Well I can't post a true reading of what the gasket and manifold give me, because I'm also milling the head and installing cam gears and then giving it a dyno tune.
But I will post pics, just remember it will be installed out of the car since I have the head off.

I will possibly be doing the outlaw set-up with the AEBS manifold. Hopefully I see a nice difference in power or just the way the engine runs. I have been just contemplating heavily about this type of purchase but, considering I will not be spending but maybe $20 total I think it will be worth it. I am selling my stock manifold to get the AEBS and the Outlaw. I think this is what will give me the improvements I want.
