B16a1.....whats this sensor thingy?
Whats this thing on my manifold? Do I need it or can I just plug the lines? It has one skinny little line coming out of it that goes no where that I can see and a bigger vaccum line going into the top of the manifold. Thanks in advance!!
you know...i was wondering that same thing.
bump! i rather not see that damn thing in my engine bay anymore.
if you think about it..aftermarket intake manifolds dont have that nor a spot for it..so i dont see why we couldnt just remove it?
anyone else?

Mine just sits there with nothing on it. I'm also very curious on what that damn is.

I belive it allows the car to start easier or provide more airflow at low rpms or something of the sort.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Anyone know what this should be connected to?

I always thought those were on automatics but i know i could be wrong on that. If yours came with 5 speed then maybe not. Also there is the fact that some importers will slap on a 5 speed (flywheel, clutch, tranny) to a auto b16 to sell it because they are easier to sell...(manual tranny vs. auto ) just my opinion though.

who knows... my tranny bolts looked untouched (almost 99% positive they werent touched) and that would be pretty retarted of them to put on the burnt *** clutch that was on there.
Using a vacuum from the manifold, it retards the closing motion of the throttle body butterfly.
The quick closing motion of the butterfly sometimes gives a lapse in ECU adjustment, because the ecu is not always fast enough in compensating for the closing throttlebody. Thus for a fraction giving you a rich mixture.
You can take it off, and plug up the hole.
*EDIT*
Wrong sensor thingy....my bad.
It's the other thingy in the pic.

Look at the bottom of the pic, that is the part you are talkin about. this is something else.
