Default Critical decision making, I really need the help guys!

Ok guys (and girls) I've asked for help on decisions here before, but this time I really need help deciding. The teg was puffin white smoke the other day and i knew the head gasket was getting bad, so i say to myself, "fine, that's cool, i'll replace the gasket and be done with it." Well, the new gasket is on there, no problems.. except for the startup.. still white smoke, put a fork in the engine it's done. Looks like i got a cracked block now from driving with the damn bad gasket. Here comes the decision part i need help on. The car was JUST about to get fiberglass interior, sound system, the whole shabang next week, but now I gotta get a new engine. It boils down to three options here:

Option 1.) Head over to the junkyard, pull a $100 D16A1, pop it in, and hope it's ok
Option 2.) Spend all the money I've got right now and get a ZC for a replacement
Option 3.) Borrow some money and go ahead with the future planned B16 swap.

...Really the only thing holding me back from the swap is the fact that I'll be broke for a while (again) and I really wanted to have it put in more near january so I could start racing next spring. Please give me any and all suggestions guys. I need all I can get. Thanks ahead of time.

Don't spend money on something that you don't want (1 or 2). I would go with the B16 now so you don't have to pay for it later..

that's exactly what i said to my mother too, ".. i don't want to buy a $500 engine now and then throw it away to buy a $2000 engine later"

<-- is all motor, i'm staying away from FI unless i wanna drag a CRX, but out of curiousity, how much does that super push out on the D-series?

it probably bring it to a power level just above the B16...but the torque would be a little more abundant. i'll have to dig out an old honda book regarding the JR supercharger.

Wow, must be a black G1 owner who works on his own car thing, I'm going through the same thoughts, except for that whole fiberglass interior thing. I need this car for at least, ehh, 2.5 years or so, and the trans slips already, need a headgasket, water pump, timing belt, and other miscellaneous stuff and I'm trying to think of what to do.

the money is coming from good ol' mom, so no need to worry about getting into debt, about the only time i might take a loan from a bank is when i open up my own shop.. loans=the suck

good news, the B16 is a go, i got the call last night saying that the funds were available and she just wanted to make sure that "spending that amount of money on the same car would be worth it".... oh it's gonna be worth it
