Default shifter question

not a crx question, but just manual transmission in general, what causes the shifter to bounce freely when in gear?

Broken motor mounts are another thing that will cause the shifter to "bounce" or move when your driving...a good test is pulling the e brake and having a friend (who's not a jack ***) slip the clutch a bit to put a load on the motor while your watching it...if it moves all over the place the you have some broken mounts...if it is pretty solid then you probably just have some broken shifter bushings.
