Bedding Cobalt Spec VR's
I need to bed in my new set of Spec VR's and have misplaced the bedding instructions from Cobalt. Does anybody have a bedding recommendation for these pads. I'll most likely be bedding them on a street in the middle of nowhere rather than at the track.

hmm, i remember it being something like 6 50 mph to 10mph stops, using light pedal action. 30 minute cool. then 6 50-10 stops, standing on the pedal and getting em really hot, cool overnight w/ the e-brake off.

I think most pads are very similar. Never come to a complete stop. Hard stops at different speeds. Give a chance to cool down by driving around and then park the car with e-brake off (if the back pads are old pads, then the ebrake thing doesn't matter).

VRs aren't really broken in like other pads for many reasons I can't explain. You're going to experience a lot of pad transfer, so your car is going to shake for awhile... The instructions are pretty specific about bedding the VRs on track. IIRC, it was too slow / moderate laps followed by 2-3 hard laps, followed by two moderate laps, then 2-3 hard laps, then 2 light laps. Ideally you want to let the pads cure for 24 hours. Mine only "cured" for about 2 hours, and they seem fine.
You'll love these pads though... I have about 750 track miles on them, my car is about 3350lbs with driver, and there's about 50% pad life left.
