My next Accord
I currently have a 96 EX with a few problems (suspension and window) but I'm about to sell my Infiniti (the check is supposedly in the mail, fedex) and I'm in the market for another Accord. I have looked, on the Internet, at the following:
92-93 Coupe EX
93 Coupe SE
95 Sedan V6 EX (I think this one got away)
94 Sedan EX
94 Coupe EX
93 Sedan EX
Which one would you guys (and gals) lean toward? The 93 SE Coupe is in my head. The 94 EX is too, although I have mixed feelings about having two cars with the same body style. The other 93 coupe is strong too except it is brown and I don't do much brown in anything, especially cars. The guy with the 93 SE wants $3700 and it has 161k on it. It almost sounds too good to be true. I might have to take off work to go see it. He lives on the other side of the area (DC) so it is a haul and I don't know how convenient it will be to have someone inspect the car. He told me he only uses Mobil 1 so I was thinking he is somewhat of a fanatic about it. He said the leather interior is good and the only thing it has wrong with it is a cracked windshield. What else should I look for that would alert me of potential problems besides something like oil under the car? I haven't purchased a used car in about 10 years (my Accord has been with me since it was a newborn).
Sorry about the long post but I'm new so I can only post 5 times a day.

Through some research and addition I have come to the realization that the 94 was painted to possibly hide some rust. I'm going to look at the 93 SE today.
If you have problems with your current 96 Accord, why don't you use the money and fix it up and possibly drop in an H22 motor instead of buying a second car?
I have a 94 Accord EX sedan (Black w/Gray leather) 105k miles I'd consider selling if you're interested.

i have been nothing but happy with my 94 ex coupe even though i just found out that both my master and slave cylinders were leaking, that was a fun time trying to figure out how to get my clutch to come back out....

These mean nothing without miles and condition of car etc etc.
IMO looks the 94/95 accord looks the best, stick with the 4 banger and spend within your means

if u want a stick, then DEFINANTLY 95-94 EX coupe or sedan, whichever fits your "lifestyle" better
if u want an auto, 93 SE is the way go to.....i know a guy at school who bought one from some old jewish lady last year....35k miles, and he paid 4.5K.....one of the most sturdy automobiles ever built....+ it REALLY stands out among the 4th gens (too bad it only came in auto

I just wanted to clarify. Even though I'm having some trouble with my 96 that is not the reason I'm buying a new car. My 96 has had a very good Total Cost of Ownership. I'm buying another car because we just sold our G35. It wasn't about the money. It was about moving to the DC area from Vegas, having my wife drive to the metro station and the Infiniti taking a beating. She drove my car and something happened to it too. I can't have anything happening to my baby! Plus, we are trying to get into rental properties so we don't want any car payments at the moment. I'm not getting the 93 SE. Too many small things wrong that would add up.
Phatboy, of course I'm interested in your car. Tell me more about it or tell me what your email address is.
I appreciate the information about the cars. The only 94-95 still available is kind of suspect. I think it is rusting and was painted to hide the damage. If anyone has anymore information please tell me. I have a checklist of things to look for but I don't know a lot about the 90-93 body style. If it is a 94-95 I have an idea. One more question, would you buy one of these cars without changing the timing belt if you didn't have prior knowledge about the car?
