Whatever it says in your manual. Anything highter is a huge WASTE of money. It won't make you faster, it won't make the car run better. Just use what the manual states. Period.

I usually put in 89, it's about the same price as the 87 usually.

I have a hard time believing that. It may have more horsepower but you can feel the hesitation. I have an '01 and I always use the highest octane possible. Its just better for your engine over the long haul and you can feel the car run smoother

:cracks nuckles:

Ok, I will give you game 1. The Pistons played damn well. This will indeed be the hardest faught game in the series. But the lakers are on a mission as well. They will come out hot tonight and fast. The pistons will fall behind early and never regain. I bet the lakers win by about 8 and they will lead most of the game. but it wont be a blow out. The back to detroit where the series will develop even more.

Yeah but then they gotta play three straight in motown. If LA doesn't win tonight its over. I know San Antonio went up 2-0 too but LA got to go home after that. Go Pistons

I only use regular 85-87...I tried using 93 once the only thing it did for me was burn a whole in my pocket, stick with what the manual says

Dude, the Magic could beat LA three straight if LA isn't interested. That's the crazy thing about LA, they are definitely the best team in the NBA but they play so erratic. When they're on they're unstoppable, and when they're off they beat themselves. Its almost like the playoffs have become the Lakers vs. themselves. I agree when they're on they can't be beat no matter where they play.

a.) the "hesitation" is in your head
b.) it's your money, so if you want to waste it on 93, it won't bother me
c.)How is it better over the longhaul? Sounds like you're just speculating....no real concrete evidence here.

My wife, who knows nothing about cars, can feel the difference. There is a difference, why do you think turbo cars have to have 93 (91 for the poor Cali cars) or above. Is that in my head? Its called detonation dumb ***. And over the life of your car it'll cause damage. Its not rocket science.

If it is recommended to use 87 octane which I believe it is...than use it...all octane is, is resistance to knock...there is no need to use anything higher than recommended unless you have mods that need it (i.e. turbo, supercharger, etc...)
