a friend of mine has a new body stlye civic si, we made a drive into new york last night and did some highway/toll booth exit pulls. i was impressed with it, as it kept up (sortof) with my moms a6 2.7t (250/258 @ flywheel, but porky... with me and a 120 pound passenger). 1-3 carlengths behind 20->75, depending on who got the jump and when my moms slush box kicked in. i had always thought less of the car (subaru forum bias i suppose), mistakenly.

anyway, what does a stock si put down to the wheels? im trying to figure out if he's modded (as he claims to be) or not... also, if anyone has experience, stock for stock, how does this car compare to a wrx from a roll (say, 3rd gear from 60).

The new Si's probably make like 136whp. And I doubt that those things can hang with a WRX.

 

new si --> 16.0 in the 1/4
WRX --> 14.2 in the 1/4

 

i beat those when i had my dx motor in my hatch with some basic bolt-ons
