This group kicks a**!!! I just got a new to me civic and was wondering, since this is an fuel economy engine (d16y8) what is the most mileage I can crank out of it? If I do the usual rai and exhaust mods will that help at all for economy or just power?
I used to have a 60 bug with a tweaked 1200cc engine that would get 45mpg+ with a carb, although it was a dog the mileage was worth it. With the money I saved on gas I just had a another 56 vw with a 12 second 2 liter for when the slug bug got boring! Here in L.A. the gas is $2.45 per gallon so I would think a fi computer controlled engine might be able to get 50mpg.

 

I'll say you'd get close to 35mpg regularly, more on just highway driving.

 

probably around 275 a tank i believe on a 99 civic 4 door lx.


not my car so im not sure.

 

I get around 35 to 37 with mostly freeway. I don't know about 50 miles the hybrid cars only get 60.
