swap day 3.
step one - climb under car to remove 'bitch pin'.
step two - find bitch pin.. think for a couple minutes.
step three - come inside, search H-T for 'bitch pin'.
step four - try a few suggestions, with no luck.
step five - turn off garage lights, wash up, and make a note to buy the proper punch tomorrow..
heh.. it's beer time.

you could search. there are a couple of ways to get it out. what i do is to get an old drill bit that will fit in the hole and with a 6 lb. sledge hit it into the pin while holding the bit with a pair of vise grips. there was a thread with a pic of a guy replacing it with a nut and bolt but i can't find it.

You just need a proper sized punch, don't get one of those that gradually get bigger, get the punch that is same diameter all the way down the shaft. I had problems with the ones that gradually get wider, while the same-diameter ones pop bitch pins out like magic.

ok.. no luck at sears, napa, or the local hardware stores..
second best alternative ?
(i've been looking for an 8mm punch with the **** on the end that goes inside the hollow part of the bitch pin)
easier to go from the top or from the bottom..
i've been pounding away from underneath..

Try a 4mm socket (like the one pictured) fitted onto a 1/4in extension (3inch). Hammer from the bottom up. Worked for me...

I use a 1/4 inch extension... works everytime. Of course it takes a bit of pounding but I have never put my project away because of a linkage pin... just hit hit hit hit hit... at first it will not move... but once you get it moving it seems to come out pretty good

yeah i tried to get it out with a hammer at first then after a few hits i noticed i was wasting my time. So i pulled out the air hammer and 5 seconds later the linkage was off. Air is the greatest

I just use a fat phillips head that will still fit through the hole, duct taped to a long *** 1/2 extension. Throw it in 4th and attack it from the top. Works like a charm.
Only takes a minute for a bitch pin that can take hours.
