Default Squeal at high RPM's (searched)

When I drive my car hard at high RPM's with the A/C on, there is a squeal. This only happens at high RPM's with the A/C on, though. I'm thinking it is the A/C compressor because I got a similar noise on my old DSM before I sold it. I was told that the noise on the DSM was probably an A/C compressor. Has anyone heard of anything like this or had any similar problems with their A/C? It really freaked me out when I heard it, but I guess if I'm gonna drive my car hard, I shouldn't have the A/C on anyway.

It could be the belts. Even with my AC off when I floor it I can hear the belts whining over the sound of my Apex'i Dunk.

I would check the belts first. Put light pressure on the belt with your finger and see if they are loose or not. That could be the problem. Post back and let us know if it worked

Belts are all tight, even after just driving it when they should be hot and expanded. There's just the two belts, right?

there are three belts: alternator, power steering and A/C...

And your problem is NOT a belt... your problem is either the tensioner of the A/C belt or the A/C compressor bearing... I have the same probelm which I solved like this: I DO NOT DRIVE ABOVE 4500 rpm WITH MY A/C TURNED ON...

Nothing to worry about, It is happening to me for 2 years now and A/C is working like a tik-tak...

another way is too check what it is and tell me so I can fix mine...

Start with the tensioner and go to the compressor... when you find the problem let me know so I don't have to search...

just kidding...

But if you really plan to search what makes that noise, please keep me informed... I would really like to know despite the fact that I turn on the A/C 3 times a year...
