not sure about this one
recently i broke a timing belt on my car and didnt do anty damage..so i installed a mugen headgasket and all new gaskets and seals throughout the whole head while i was at it..then i put everything back together the way it came out usiong the stock cams.my question is and im pretty sure its ok..but is there a period of which i have to rebreak in the head or somthing?..im thinking no because its all oem parts and its all the stuff that came out of the head..but i just want to know..its been back together for excatly a week and ive been keeping my revs under 4k rpm for the most part..theres been a few times where i had to see if vtec was working properly but i havent hit 7k since i have done this work because of fear i might be damaging my head...thats why im asking
well, you were supposed to let it idle for 15 minutes to let the valve seals seat..but it really doens't matter to some people. i'd do it just for peace of mind even though i know it probably wont hurt me if i didn't.
after i put everything back together i let it idle for 45 minutes..then checked my oil, bled the coolant and topped it off ,checked the timing belt, checked the cam gears, checked all sensors, checked the headgasket for leaks...but that was a week ago..so am i ok to drive or shoudl i be babying it?
also..im gonna be installing new valve springs, new retainers,a used jun 2 intake cam and probally a new ctr exhaust cam...should i break the motor in once i do these things? or just do what i would normally do after taking the head off and reinstalling it?
