baffled oil pan??? I need your opinion
Sup guys! I'm getting my whole engine rebuild and I was wondering if baffling the oil pan would be a good modification to do while the pan is out. Also, is there any down side in baffling an oil pan??? My car is all motor and will be driven daily and autox once in a while.
I searched for a cheap baffle plates and I found this:

This is perfect because I have a friend that can weld it for me
So what do you all think? Should I do it or leave it stock? TIA

No disadvantage provided its done right. (welds don't break, and the baffles don't cover the pickup or something).
Extremely important if you do AutoX/Tracking (although more important on the latter).
I spun a bearing due to oil starvation on a long sweeper a few months ago.

Ouch. More details?
I put a m00gen pan on my car.

Got a low oil pressure light going through nine. Car seemed to drive fine, in fact I drove it home (although the power did seem lacking).
I had to do a bunch of work to the car, so I didn't end up driving it for a few weeks. Replaced the head gasket, had to helicoil a bolt in the head. When I went to drive it after everything was fixed, it started losing more and more power down low.
One trip to work it got to the point where the oil light was coming on at idle (no lack of oil either), and I almost had to floor it to get the car going. When I pulled the oil pan there was chunks of bearing EVERYWHERE. Cylinder #1 was spun, found both bearings sitting on top of each other and in pieces.
Still waiting on the replacement bottom end

In the mean time I made some baffles out of sheet metal and welded them in. So pleeeease baffle your pan everyone, heheheh.
Are you sure your oil pump didn't just die? It has happened to me, and it caused the same bearing disaster as you had. My #2 bearing ended up in the oil pan in a few thousand pieces, and all of the other bearings were hosed and had metal debris in the passages.
I swapped in another B18B and have since turbo'ed it, but I don't have any oil starvation on the road course. I have taken it out there with the turbo plenty of times now and my pressure gauge doesn't show any noticable change in the turns, but I do get a slight pressure drop when the oil gets really hot. I just overfilled it about 1/4 quart and have had no oil starvation whatsoever. It stays right around 75psi at high rpms.
If your oil light comes on, then it has really low pressure... probably 10psi or less.

Well the pump is gear driven, so if it failed I imagine I would have noticed some else wrong. Either the gear cracking/shattering, or a broken timming belt.
Either way, its a REALLY good idea to baffle your pan
